Addictions Counseling (AS03) (AS04)

Internships/experiential learning

  • Each student is required to complete a 300-hour field placement at a local agency that is approved by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The hours required to complete the field placement will be approximately 20 per week. When on-site at the field placement, students will participate in activities related to at least four of the 12 Core functions of an Addictions Counselor.

Criminal Justice: Police AAS Accelerated Online & On-Campus Option

Paralegal Studies Program (PL01)

Curricular Requirements

This is a post-graduate degree program with a minimum requirement of an Associate’s degree with at least 18 liberal arts credits. Those with a Bachelor’s degree can automatically matriculate into the program. Those with an Associate’s degree must apply and receive departmental approval from the director of the paralegal studies program.

  • Students need to have access to a computer with online access to Blackboard.

Internships/experiential learning

  • 75 hours

Coursework availability

  • All classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6am to 8:50pm and Saturday mornings from 9am to 11:50am at the Downtown Campus.

  • Students have all the same resources as other MCC students.

Off-campus requirements

  • Students will need to intern at local law firms or agencies. Students will have 3-4 classes at the Fourth Department Appellate Law Library on East Avenue.
